Pittsburgh, Pa., native Quentin Williams picked up two more offers recently and one of those two looks like they could be a serious player in his recruiting picture, although he maintains that he is still completely open to any and all opportunities. We spoke to him about these latest offers and how he sees his recruiting picture shaping up right now. | |||

As a junior at Central Catholic High School, Quentin Williams caught 22 passes for 424 yards and six touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball he added 42.5 tackles, with 13.5 coming for a loss, 8.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries. It is that athleticism and production that has led 17 schools from across the country to offer the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder to come play tight end for them. His most recent offers came this week from Clemson and Iowa, two programs he spoke about with us. “Clemson and Iowa both offered me recently,” Williams explained. “Right now I don’t have any official leaders and I am still completely open in my recruiting, but a couple of schools that are standing out are Boston College, Rutgers, Northwestern, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Clemson and Kentucky. That doesn’t mean they are my finalists as I could learn a thing or two about another school and really like them too, but those are just the programs sticking out at this very moment.” “One thing I definitely like about Clemson is that the football staff has told me that they would like me to play baseball too,” Williams said. “I have already talked to some of the baseball coaches from there at various events which is good. I know they have great programs on the football field and the diamond, but other then that I really need to research the school some more. They definitely have a shot at me though.” “Iowa was actually one of the first schools to start sending me mail as a junior, however it went quiet for a long time with them until getting this offer recently. I plan on calling the coaches when I am allowed to do so and get a feel for them so I know what to expect going forward.” As a junior, Williams was named first team All-Conference by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He has a GPA of 3.47, a QPA of 3.92 and scored 660 on math, 440 on verbal and 490 on the written portion of his SAT for a cumulative 1590. |
