While it may not have the talent level as in years past, the defensive tackles in California still…
Bay Area Star Has Local Leader
Arguably the top lineman to come to the San Francisco Scout.com Combine was San Jose (Calif.) Piedmont Hills' defensive tackle Jacob Feagai (6-4, 305). Feagai clocked an impressive 5.0 forty, and then dominated in the drills, working mostly with the offensive line. But its on defense where Feagai's attention from colleges is coming from, and that's where he'd like to play. "I play right offensive tackle, but I'd rather play defense in college," said Feagai. "That's where I'm getting recruited at." Three schools have offered Feagai, California, Arizona and San Jose State, and he's hearing from Idaho, Oregon, Oregon State, USC and San Diego State. "Cal is my leader," said Feagai. "It's in the Bay Area and they've been recruiting me a long time." Feagai camped in Berkeley this summer, along with the Rising Senior Camp at USC and the Nike Camp at Stanford to go with this all-combine performance at the Scout Combine. He said that the Trojans told him they would be watching him closely this fall. "USC said that wanted to watch my senior year before they offered me, but that they'd be watching," said Feagai. Feagai said he wasn't in a rush to make his decision, wanting to take as much time as necessary. "I'm going to wait and take some visits before I commit," said Feagai. Last fall, he had 63 tackles for Piedmont Hills. Academically, he said he would be a full qualifier.
