In-State Powers Coming for White Premium Story

An impressive summer on the camp and combine circuit has now helped Berwyn, Pa., standout Nihja White get his foot in the door at some schools that were not previously showing him such serious interest. His focus is now making sure that natural ability translates to the field so he can add to the one offer he already holds.

Nihja White has been holding an offer from Duke for three months now, however after some strong performances in front of coaches this summer the 6-foot-1, 193-pound wide receiver is also seeing serious interest from two in-state powers. If White can continue to show that he is a go-to guy this season for Conestoga High School he could keep adding offers as plenty of programs are interested.

“I get a lot of mail from many different schools, but I was just invited out to games by Penn State, Boston College, Northwestern, Delaware and Villanova recently and have really been hearing a lot from two schools,” White explained. “Penn State and Pittsburgh have come on really strong recently, so that is definitely encouraging.”

“I have been talking to Pittsburgh heavily lately and they said they have me on the board right near Jonathan Baldwin,” White said. “The last time I spoke with the staff I talked to Coach (Dave) Wannstedt, Coach (Aubrey) Hill and Coach (Paul) Dunn and they told me they would be coming out to see me play a few times this season. They also invited me to two of their home games, so I will be visiting there this weekend for their first game. I like Pittsburgh a lot and enjoyed my time at camp there.”

“Penn State is another school that has been on me pretty heavily and I like the area the school is in and the tradition that is Penn State Football,” White stated. “I felt very comfortable on campus during the two-day camp and have been in constant contact with the staff lately.”

As a junior, White caught 50 passes for 966 yards and 15 touchdowns. He had a list of accolades including honorable mention All-State honors by PA Football News, Co-Player of the Year from Main Line Life, first team Main Line Times, Delaware County Daily Times All-Area, first team All-Area from The Suburban and was a second team All-Central League selection.
