"I
went to the Tennessee, Auburn, and Vandy camps," added DeMario Williams.
Those
three camps seemed to have helped Williams' game.
"I think I got a
lot better from going to all those camps and learning the little things to make
me better. I know a lot more now."
DeMario is holding SEC offers from
South Carolina and Ole Miss. Why did he pass up on a chance to attend these two
camps?
"I had already planned to go to Vandy, Auburn, and Tennessee,
and their dates conflicted with Ole Miss and South Carolina. But I am going to
set up an official visit to Ole Miss pretty shortly."
No date is being
tossed around?
"We are playing with going in early December, like
that first weekend, but nothing has been set yet."
Which colleges
are now at the top of Williams' list?
"Of course South Carolina and
Ole Miss are going to up top because they have offered me, but I am still keeping
my options open to some schools like Vandy, Alabama, and Tennessee. I have not
had a chance to talk to them since they started the new rule (text), but they
have been writing me a lot."
What are DeMario's feelings on taking
away text messaging?
"It calms it down a lot. There are not anymore
texts on my phone. I am interested to see how it works out. It will let you know
how is really interested in me and who is not now that they will have to go the
extra mile to make contact with us."
Although colleges can not phone
prospects until September 1st, the prospects can still call the staffs.
"I
still talk to Ole Miss pretty much all of the time. I use to talk to South Carolina
all of the time before they quit texting us. But since the rule came out, I have
not talked to them as much lately. South Carolina has talked to my coach a lot
lately though. Ole Miss will email my coach, and I just call them back. They are
telling me to come in for an official visit so I can check out their campus. I
am going to wait on my decision until I take all five of my visits."
