Simmie Yarborough Profile
"We are doing pretty good so far," said Simmie. "We won 37-6 this past Friday over North Pike. I didn't make many catches. I think it was the first game jitters. Coach told me I had a pretty good game blocking."
Ole Brook will take on another of their Pike County neighbors this weekend.
"We have South Pike this week," said Simmie. "It's not going to be an easy game. I know you have to work for all of them, but we know they are going to play hard. We are going to have to fight hard. We have some young guys that are learning. I feel like we're going to come out on top."
Simmie had an early offer from Duke, but it appears that things between the two have cooled.
"I haven't heard from Duke lately," said Yarborough. "I have been getting a lot of mail from colleges like Nicholls State, Louisville, Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and some colleges around here. Nicholls State sent me a handwritten letter, but the rest of them are those 'How is your week going' type of letters. I got a call from (Northwestern State) in Louisiana. He left me a voice mail."
The versatile receiver expects to take in a few games at a pair of his in state schools this fall.
"I plan on going to a couple of Mississippi State games," said Simmie. "Southern Miss wants me to come to one of their games, so I am going to be getting out a little bit."
