| Brown Awaiting More Offers | ||||

Springdale, Md., prospect Jarren Brown is still holding the same three offers, however it sounds like he could nail down some more after the first few games of his senior season. He recently took a visit to the Midwest to check out one school and is hearing from another that could also offer in a few weeks. | |||

Jarren Brown rushed 110 times for 950 yards and 13 touchdowns last season and also caught a 25-yard pass for a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball he made 50 tackles and sacked the quarterback seven times. While most schools are recruiting the 5-foot-8, 186-pound athlete at running back, it is because of that versatility that he is also getting looks at the cornerback position right now. “Right now I still have the same three offers from Navy, Syracuse and James Madison and have no favorites as I am just focusing on my season,” Brown explained. “My first game is this weekend and I’m just exciting to get the ball rolling at this point.” Brown did take a recent visit to Northwestern and talked a bit about the experience, as well as two other programs he has been in steady contact with. “I took an unofficial visit to Northwestern and really liked everything about it to tell you the truth,” Brown stated. “The facilities and coaching staff were great and it is right near Chicago which I like being from near a bigger city. I sat down and watched film with the running backs coach and they told me they wanted to see my first two games, but I got the feeling based on how they were talking that they are going to offer me.” “Boston College is another program that wants to see my first two games, but they want me to come there and play cornerback,” Brown said. “I would rather play running back because that is where I’ve been my whole life, but if it’s the right situation I would have no problem making the switch.” “I talked to Coach White from Syracuse a few days ago and he just told me how much they need me up there. I like that they are a running offense most of the time even though the other day they didn’t get to much as they were down so fast.” Brown earned second-team All-County honors at running back for Charles Herbert Flowers High School last season. |
