Will Gilchrist Profile
"I have heard from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Memphis, MTSU, Georgia Tech, Duke, Louisville and some Ivy league schools," said Will.
The chance to play college football is something that Will has worked years for and he reports he is grateful for the early interest.
"I am really just looking for a place I can go to and throw the ball a lot," said Gilchrist. "I like Memphis' offense. They throw it a bunch. Wherever I get the opportunity to play, I am going to be happy about it. I am just going to take the best option that I get."
While some high school offenses are trending towards a dual-threat type quarterback, Gilchrist is your traditional drop back passer who has worked to improve his mobility.
"I am mainly a throwing quarterback, but I worked real hard in the weight room and I lowered my 40 time," said Will. "I run about a 4.65 and I will be running a little more this year, but I am best at throwing it. I like having another option now."
Will spent a lot of time in the summer camp and combine circuit putting his skills on display. Now that he has had the chance to take a few guided tours, the talented quarterback has a working criteria for a decision.
"I have been to several different places and there all nice, so I want to make sure I find a coaching staff that I get a long real well with," said Gilchrist. "There are some towns I love and some places I feel more comfortable, but I don't want to limit myself. There are a lot of good schools, so I am going to keep my options open. I just want to find a coaching staff and an offense I can be comfortable with."
