4-Star DB Ready For First Visit
"We're 1-1 now after losing by one point to Palm Beach Lakes," Karnell Hatcher said. "We beat Boca the week before. We have a bye this week." Hatcher, 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, is having a solid season so far. He's using the off week this week to take his first recruiting visit. "I'm going up to Michigan for my official visit," he said. "I don't know too much about it. I'm going to check it out. They play Notre Dame and it's gonna be packed. I might take one more during the season but the rest will be after." The talented safety prospect talked about some other schools on his list. "I still like Miami and LSU a lot," he said. "I talk to all the coaches at Miami but mainly Coach McGriff and Coach Stoutland. I've talked to LSU, South Carolina, Oklahoma, West Virginia, a bunch of colleges." Hatcher spoke about opening day in college football last Saturday. "Michigan is struggling, they need to bounce back," he said. "I watched the Miami game. They kept it close into the third quarter but then they ran out of gas." Hatcher, who denies a favorite, scored a 670 on the SAT and is trying to bring that up. "I'm taking the ACT next month," he said. "I'll be straight."
