Randall Mackey Profile
"I think we're doing good," said Randall. "Our passing game is doing pretty good. We're all still working with the O line more to get them back to the way they were last year. We're passing the ball a little more too and we're running it good."
Randall is relying more on his ability to hurt defenses with his legs this season.
"I have been playing good," said Mackey. "I am making more plays on the ground this year."
The Rams have a big game this weekend in more ways than one.
"We have to play East St. John this weekend," said Mackey. "They are real big on the D line. They are huge, almost too big. They will be the biggest team we have played against so far. I will just have to move around a little more".(laugh)
Randall picked up offers from Mississippi State and ULM in the earlier portions of the recruiting process. One of those teams appears to still be in pursuit.
"I don't have any new offers, but some schools have been calling," said Mackey. "I got calls from a coach from ULM, a coach from ULL and a from a school in Tennessee, Memphis."
Early in the process, the talented signal caller was pretty much set on lining up behind center. Now that he has had the time to get some feedback from college coaches, he has softened his stance about a possible change.
"I am not real sure if they are all thinking about quarterback," said Randall. "I could play cornerback if I needed to."
The elusive quarterback will be on the move literally over the course of the next few weeks.
"I am going to a game at Grambling this weekend," said Mackey. "The next weekend I am going to ULM and then hopefully the week after that I am going to an LSU game in Baton Rouge."
