The visit just
solidified his feelings towards Ole Miss.
"I committed to Coaches
Freeze and Orgeron just a few minutes ago," stated Scout.com's #10
nationally rated defensive end coming out of high school. "Coach Orgeron
was ecstatic. He told me to welcome back home baby."
has made it no secret that he went against his heart in high school and signed
with Auburn instead due to family pressure. But now he feels like he has it right
"Coach Frank and Orgeron never pressured me in high school,
and they never pressured me now. I appreciated that because a lot of coaches are
always trying to almost con you into coming to their program. But I think they
knew in my heart that I wanted to be at Ole Miss, and I always knew in my heart
that I wanted to be at Ole Miss. I never got them off of my mind, and I am just
blessed to end up where I was always was suppose to be."
also a few more positives for the Rebels.
"I just know Coach Frank
and Orgeron in a personal way. I wanted to get my recruitment out of the way.
I needed to concentrate on my books. I was already starting to get phone calls
from all over the place, and when I got back home from Saturday's game, I knew
it was time to get it over with."
Horton expects to be a main factor
in the Rebels defensive end rotation next season.
"They want me to
play the Leo position, get after the passer. I noticed that they did not have
much depth against Florida and they kind of got winded. I think I could have helped
them out a lot against Florida."
Horton moved to defensive end in
Thursday's game but had to go back to MLB after the first few snaps.
went to a 5 wide out set, so we had to go to a 3-4. I moved back to MLB but finished
the game with 10 tackles, 6 solos, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for a loss.
now has 34 tackles, 8 QB hurries, 2 sacks, and 3 tackles for losses in four games
of action for N' West CC.
He is scheduled to graduate in May and will enroll
at Ole Miss with 2 to play 2.
