Auburn had many top prospects working out inside their stadium Saturday night and Scout takes names…
Where Will Higgins Play?
Justin Higgins This year his production is not quite as impressive with 897 yards and eight touchdown passes but those numbers do not tell the whole story. "Justin is having a great year," said Rayville head coach Bo Barton. "We haven't thrown the ball as much as we did last year because we haven't had many games that were close after the first half. He's still looking as good as he did last year but even better. If we cared about records he would be leading the state in passing but we don't worry about those kind of records." According to Rayville's headman, Higgins is hearing from all of the smaller in-state schools but no official offers yet. "ULL, ULM and Louisiana Tech are close to offering but they hadn't yet," said Barton. "Those schools always wait to come in late and I know that's what is going to happen with Justin." One thing that is playing a role in Higgins' recruitment is the fact that some coaches feel he is a better safety or outside linebacker prospect but he would like to stay at quarterback. "If he can't play quarterback for ULL, ULM, Northwestern or McNeese then they need to win a national championship," explained Barton. "I think he is a lot like Randall Mackey but maybe not as smooth and I'd take either one of those kids. If I'm any of these smaller schools then I'm coming to get Justin. He can run and pass as good as any quarterbacks they have right now."
