A pair of field goals made the difference on the scoreboard, but both teams appear to have some players with some division one potential.

Warren Central

Joel Forbes - The junior running back comes in at 6-2, 200 +. Forbes is a very physical runner who always falls forward for positive yardage when the play is over. More times than not Forbes bounced off intitial contact in the back field or at the line of scrimmage and kept his feet moving to make something of the play. Joel is far from a polished runner, but he has a lot of raw potential. He is not flashy, but he has a real blue collar appeal.

Bennie Peoples - The senior defensive lineman has a good motor. With the depth of talented defensive lineman in Mississippi, Peoples appears to be a little under the radar. Bennie does a good job of getting off of blocks and he has great size. At 6-3, 270 he could easily move inside and play defensive tackle. He plays to the whistle sounds and pursues the ball very well.

Northwest Rankin

Donnie Harvey - The senior linebacker has a good nose for the ball. Harvey was in on double digit tackles and was a step away from about a dozen more. He has very good recognition and is confident in his first step. Harvey has a very good frame, but needs to add some bulk. He is a shade under 200 pounds.

David Lindsey - The senior cornerback has very good size at 5-11, 175. Lindsey does a good job in run support and is not scared of contact. He is very physical and a sure handed tackler. Very few balls were thrown in his direction, so I was unable to get a read on his coverage skills.

Chad Wright - The junior running back will likely play fullback at the next level, but his cause would be helped with a late growth spurt. Wright currently stands about 5-8 and comes in just over 200 pounds. He hits the hole hard and he makes the most of his carries. He is not the most elusive back, but when he has a full head of steam he finishes his runs with a lowered shoulder.

Terrance Crosby - T.C., just a junior, is very fun to watch. He is listed at 5-9, 175 and is your classic scat back. He has very good cutback ability and on some plays he makes defenders look a little silly. He is very elusive in the open field and if he gets the ball in space, the first defender is not going to make the tackle. He uses his blocks very well and is patient when picking his holes. Perhaps the best thing about Crosby is his attitude towards the game. It is very easy to see that he is having a lot of fun out there.
