Ralston Dews, a 6-foot-0, 340-pound defensive lineman from Lee High in Tyler, Texas seems like he could not be happier with the fact that he has made his college decision.
“I committed to SMU about two weeks ago,” Dews said. “I like the program because it is a good program that is coming up and the coaches are all real cool.”
“I really like all of the facilities. I have not been on an official visit, but I am going to be getting with my parents on when they can go. It will probably be after my season. Plus it is close to home.”
Dews made the move from Houston to Tyler in the off-season due to some personal issues, and he thinks that he has been playing well after adapting to the change.
“I have been playing OK,” Dews said. “I am doing pretty good. I am now playing some offensive line because of some injuries on the team.”
“I am doing better than I thought I would be because of playing in a new system and for a new team and everything.”
SMU has informed Dews of how they plan to utilize him in their schemes.
“I am going to be playing defense,” Dews explained. “They are going to be using me at nose guard.”
