Elite Junior Linebacker Injured

Nico Johnson, elite junior linebacker from Andalusia, (Ala.), suffered a knee injury a week ago and was forced to miss Friday night’s game. He may miss homecoming this week as well. Johnson updates his injury status with Scout.com.

“I have a partially torn MCL,” said Nico Johnson. “I missed our game this week. It happened last week. We were in a heavy set. I came in motion and fell. Then someone fell on me, and my knee bent back.”

“I practiced Monday, and then it started swelling up. That’s when the doctor ruled it as a partially torn MCL. I am going back to the doctor Wednesday and see if he’ll release me. I doubt it, but if he does I will play Friday night.”

Andalusia defeated Trinity Friday night 21-14, and they will host Daleville this week for homecoming.

Johnson knows of four scholarship offers received, and the junior prospect will see a lot more before his senior season.

“The offers I know about right now are from Florida, Alabama, Auburn and Clemson. I have a ton of letters that I have not opened yet. I just really haven’t had time."

“I still don’t have any favorites. Everyone is pretty much equal. The one school recruiting me harder than anyone else would be Alabama."
