Ryan Bass, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound, four-star running back from Centennial High School in Corona, Calif., has seen some change to his top five list.
Back in late August, Bass said he was going to be visiting Ole Miss and Minnesota in September and Iowa State in December. As of late Sept, he was going to visit Arizona on Sept. 28 and Fresno State on Jan. 11. Scratch those plans. As of now, Bass no longer has any official trips set.
"I wasn't prepared to take the visits," Bass said. "I'm cleared by the NCAA Clearing House, so it wasn't anything like that. I've just been really busy with football and these visits came up quickly so I decided to try to reschedule them."
The rescheduling can wait. Bass now says he likes Arizona State slightly over Fresno State, Ole Miss, Minnesota and San Diego State.
"The main two right now are Arizona State and Fresno State," he said. "Arizona State is recruiting me the hardest and I've been there before and really liked it. The coaches are cool and I get along with them really well. They just seem real honest and I especially like the running back coach (Jamie Christian) a lot. They are doing really well this year and are in the top 15. I also really like their offense."
Bass, ranked as the No. 29 running back in the country by Scout.com, says that Fresno State is the latest school to offer him and that the Bulldogs were always his favorite team as a youngster. "I've always like Fresno State," he said. "They recruited my brother (Michael Bass) and I never listed them as a favorite before because they finally just offered a few weeks ago.
"I like coach Pat Hill a lot and he's friends with my parents," he said. "We have a great relationship with them and I'm really excited that they offered."
Bass says that he may try to visit the Bulldogs in January, but doesn't have a firm date yet.
"I’m hoping to take a few visits and be able to make my decision in January."
Bass has 1208 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns in six games (5-1) so far, including a monster 324 yard effort against Mater Dei last Thursday.
