Los Gatos (Calif.) linebacker Kiko Alonso (6-2, 228) has made his college decision.
"Kiko committed last night to Oregon," said his father Carlos.
One of the top linebackers in California in this class, Alonso first jumped out to us after a strong junior year and followed it up with an excellent showing at the San Francisco Scout.com Combine in the spring.
Utah was the first school to offer Alonso before Oregon and Washington State followed suit, but he told Scout earlier this fall that the Ducks were the team to beat.
"We are very excited," said Mr. Alonso.
This season, Alonso has 68 tackles and two sacks in five games. Offensively he has 17 receptions for 249 yards and two touchdowns to help Los Gatos to a 4-0-1 record.
Last fall, Alonso had 143 tackles and five sacks with two fumble recoveries and an interception and had double-digit tackles 10 times. Alonso earned all-league honors and was named the Outstanding Inside Linebacker for the DeAnza League. He also had 13 receptions for 212 yards and a touchdown.
