Smith Has Seen Number Of Games

Greencastle-Antrim High School is off to a 5-1 record and Jared Smith has been a big part of that success on the defensive side of the ball, registering 35 tackles and nine sacks while causing two fumbles from his defensive tackle position. Right now he has yet to pick up his first offer, but from the sound of things he could be close to doing so.

At 6-foot-3, 252 pounds Jared Smith will need to pack on some extra weight to play defensive tackle in the collegiate ranks, but his production speaks for itself right now and the Greencastle, Pa., native has been in contact with a number of programs including Pittsburgh, Boston College, Syracuse, West Virginia and New Hampshire.

“I have been to Pittsburgh twice this season to watch them play Grambling State and Connecticut,” Smith stated. “The coaching staff and players at Pitt are great guys and the atmosphere at Heinz Field is very inspiring. I have been talking to the staff on the phone on a weekly basis at this point.”

“I went to West Virginia for their game against Eastern Michigan and really enjoyed my time in Morgantown as well,” Smith explained. “The coaches were all great with me and they really have a terrific program there. Everything was very organized from top to bottom and simply put, they are just a very good team.”

“I do hear from Boston College and Syracuse as well, but not nearly as much as I do from West Virginia and Pittsburgh right now.”
