Patterson Copes with Frustrating Times
Montario Patterson Profile Now that the shock of losing his senior season is over, ToJo has put his mind towards the road back to the playing surface. "Everything is going good," said Patterson. "I am going to be in this walking boot for a couple more weeks. I feel real good. When I get out of the boot, I'll start rehabbing on my leg." The talented running back reports that his dreams of playing college football have helped hime deal with his unfortunate situation. "I just have to put it to the side and keep thinking about the future," said ToJo. "I have to keep thinking about college." Montario has had to get used to being a spectator a high school football games. It's not a position he is accustomed to. "It's real frustrating now because the team is playing better now that I am not playing than when I was playing," remarked Patterson. "Their blocking is a lot better now. It's getting towards the middle of the season, so everybody's starting to play better. I can't get out there with them, so it's kind of frustrating." ToJo is on the injured list due to what appears to be a freak accident. "I broke my tibia," said ToJo. "I was going out of bounds and someone just fell on it the wrong way and it broke. It was crazy." Patterson was the first commitment for the Bulldogs' 2008 signing class, so he is had several conversations with the Bulldog coaching staff the past several weeks. "They have been trying to get me down for a football game," said Patterson. "I haven't been to one since I broke my leg, so I am probably going down there this Saturday. They say they want to see my leg and see how I am doing. I am going to try to make a couple more games down there before the season is over." Despite his committed status, several other schools have been keeping in touch with ToJo. "Memphis, Alabama, Southern Miss and Ole Miss are all still calling me," said Patterson. "They were all calling every week, but last week only State called. All of those other schools keep telling me that if I want to change my mind then I can come to their school if I want to. I am not going to change my mind though. My commitment is 100%."
