Brennan Williams Holding Two

Brennan Williams admits he would rather play defensive line at the collegiate level, however he also has said that he is probably a superior player along the offensive line where he may be a better fit at the next level. Either way, the West Roxbury, Mass., product is one heck of a prospect and could be one of the top linemen in the Northeast for the Class of 2009. | |||

Boston College and Syracuse have already offered Brennan Williams, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive tackle from Catholic Memorial High School and many more are sure to follow suit over the next several months by the looks of things. We spoke with Williams recently about some of the programs he has early interest in and found that some of the top programs in the nation have already taken interest. Boston College - “I like it there because it is almost like a home away from home for me at this point as I have been camping there for four years now. I like that it is close to my home and also like that small school feel. It’s funny, I either like really small schools or really big schools right now actually. Another thing I can also be confident in with Boston College is that I would receive an excellent education.” Syracuse - “It has been a few years since I have been to Syracuse, so to tell you the truth I do not remember much about it. At this point I need to sit down and do some research on the school and program.” Ohio State - “I camped there over the summer and it went really well. Ohio State was a bit different then other camps I have been to because normally I work out on both sides of the line wherever I go, but up there they just worked me out at offensive tackle. I like that it is a very big school and has great facilities.” Michigan - “We were on our way to a family reunion in Michigan as I have family there and stopped by Ann Arbor on the way. I got to go inside and see The Big House which was great and got a really nice tour of the campus. They have great facilities there and the school is absolutely huge. The coaches I met were Coach Carr, Coach Szabo and Coach Jackson who were all very nice and a lot of them already knew my dad because they recruited him out of high school.” Penn State - “I went down to Penn State for the Iowa game and while I had been on campus a few times before, this was my actual first game experience, so I loved seeing that huge crowd and feeling all the energy in the stadium. Again, I like that they are a big school like Michigan and Ohio State and another thing I like in particular about Penn State is that they are ranked high academically in classes that pertain to what I would like to do which is web design and computer graphics.” Notre Dame - “I went to Notre Dame for camp and it is a lot like Boston College there in terms of the small, classic campus and hometown feel. I liked Touchdown Jesus and all of the tradition at Notre Dame and know that they provide an excellent education as well.” His father Brent Williams played in the NFL from 1986-1993 with the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets. |
