Quinn Evans, the 5-foot-9.5, 170-pound three-star cornerback from Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz., still only has offers from Stanford and Northwestern, but says that both Ohio State and New Mexico are recruiting him harder.
"I've started hearing from New Mexico a lot recently," Evans said. "They seem really interested.
"I'm getting ready to send out my highlight tape and see if I get any more offers."
Evans, Scout.com's No. 73 cornerback, took his official visit to Stanford on Sept. 22 for the Oregon game. The Cardinal still leads slightly. "It was a real fun trip," he said. "I like the coaches at Stanford a lot. I've been up there several times so I really knew what to expect. The main thing about the visit was getting to know the players better. I had fun hanging out with them. They talked about coach Jim Harbaugh and how different things are under him this year. They all really like him.
"I think he's definitely helped them and they are improving," he said. "They beat USC and that was really exciting. It just shows you how well he gets the players ready for a big game."
Although he hasn't scheduled another visit yet, Evans says he plans to visit Northwestern as well. "I like them a lot," he said. "They had a really big win over Minnesota this weekend and I think they'll keep getting better."
Evans has around 30 tackles and four touchdowns rushing in seven games. Basha High School is 5-2.
