The Jeannette Jayhawks are undefeated and the odds on favorite to win the Class AA championship this year. The East region’s top prospect Terrelle Pryor as continued to amaze with his athleticism, despite rarely playing past halftime due to such lopsided scores.
The biggest question we had entering this season was how would Bethlehem (Pa.) Liberty linebacker Brendan Beal handle the change from playing in New Jersey to one of the most formidable leagues in Pennsylvania? The transfer looks pretty good for Beal as he has landed in the top four in the region after dominating the competition.
Montour (Pa.) tight end/full back Christian Wilson nine spots to No. 37 as he has been basically unstoppable this season. Wilson has helped lead Montour from WPIAL doormat to playoff contender.
Defensive end Jack Crawford from Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine took a monumental leap from No. 52 to No. 34 after we finally got some good game film on this potential star. The basketball player from England has just begun to unearth his vast potential and judging from his film he has a ton of it.
The Clairton Bears may have the best defense in Pennsylvania and the biggest reason for that is Manny Williams. Williams lines up everywhere for the Bears, but mainly at safety and linebacker. He is a force against the run and the pass.
Harrisburg, Pa., defensive tackle Chris Henderson dropped from the East 100 for reasons that had nothing to do with his on the field ability. After transferring from Bishop McDevitt, Henderson suffered injuries in an automobile accident and will not play this year. He has applied to and is planning on enrolling at Milford Academy in January.
