Quality Season For Kearney

Nolan Kearney will have one less game to play this season due to an unfortunate accident in Downingtown, Pa., lately involving both players from Kearney’s school, Downingtown West and their rival, Downingtown East. While frustrating for the players on both sides of the ball it is not something that will get the signal caller down and in fact, he is anticipating a great weekend in Philadelphia.
Nolan Kearney
has been extremely efficient this season, passing for 1350 yards and 11 touchdowns while only throwing one interception. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound quarterback has also shown his usual escapability, managing to rush for 343 yards and three touchdowns. He and his Downingtown West teammates are off to a 6-1 record this season, with the one loss coming by a single point on a missed field goal as time expired.
“I have been talking to a lot of the same schools, but the staff I talk with most right now is definitely
Pittsburgh
,” Kearney explained. “I talk to Coach (Paul) Dunn a lot and he makes sure to keep in touch with me and follow my progress. He is a really cool guy and has just told me that everything will work out in the end for me.”
“I also hear from
Rutgers
,
North Carolina State
,
Temple
,
Villanova
and
Michigan
on a consistent basis, although the Rutgers contact is puzzling since they already brought in two quarterbacks,” Kearney stated. “Everyone has basically just told me that my senior film will be the determining factor and I feel that my play this season has been where it needs to be.”
Kearney will take a trip this weekend as well, however it won’t be very far from home.
“I’m staying over at Penn this weekend which I am really excited about,” Kearney said. “To be able to play football and receive an Ivy League education would be an awesome experience and since my father also played for them he is really pushing for that too. They are definitely a program that I would be interested in becoming a part of.”
