If you follow recruiting in the Midland region and you do not know the name Dorrian Roberts then you soon will, as he is already on a number of major college programs recruiting radars.
At 6-foot-0, 190 pounds, Roberts is a real headhunter from his spot at safety as well as a dangerous punt return man. He flies to the ball and shows reckless abandon when tracking down ball carriers an admirable trait by any football fans standards.
“I try to be good in coverage and tackle well,” Roberts said of his skills on the field. “I try to read the quarterback and fly to the ball. If you want to play defense then you have to like hitting.”
“I like to watch Devin Hester and Sean Taylor. They are both real competitive. When I see them play I get real excited.”
He has yet to reel in his first official offer, but schools are lining up to get an early jump on his process.
“I am hearing the most from Kansas State, Duke, Stanford, Colorado, Missouri, and LSU,” Roberts explained. “I have a bunch of other schools sending me questionarres. There are too many to remember them all.”
Roberts has already visited Manhattan twice to watch the home-state Wildcats this season.
“I have been to two games at KSU,” Roberts said. “It is a real great campus and they have a great atmosphere on game days. They have great coaches and it is a nice environment.”
