I played linebacker, tailback and punted my senior year of high school and my stats were awesome: 113 tackles, 2,200 yards rushing with 38 TDs and a 35-yard punting average.
That was enough to earn me the Glenn Davis Award as the top player in Southern California, all-state honors by Cal-Hi Sports and a football scholarship to USC. While with the Trojans, I was named a Freshman All-America at linebacker and won the Butkus Award during my junior year in 1998.
A first round choice of the Detroit Lions, I have had a nice pro career during difficult times. One year after I was drafted, my father was murdered outside a Detroit bar. To honor him, I created a Memorial Fun through which I donate money for each sack, interception or touchdown I generate during the year. Do you know who I am?
Answer: Detroit Lions LB Chris Claiborne.
