"It was a great game," Miami commitment C.J. Odom said. "I'm glad Miami won. It was a big game for both teams, both needed a win and Miami came out on top. I was watching it closely the whole time." Odom said he wasn't really surprised by anything. Instead, he just enjoyed watching a big rivalry game that he'll soon be a part of. "I'm excited that I'll get to play in that game starting next year," he said. The talented safety prospect made a commitment to Miami recently. "I'm committed and I haven't set up any other visits or anything," he said. "Other schools were on me but not really since I committed." Odom brings plenty of size to the safety position and his coach believes he could grow into a linebacker in college. "I've read that people think I'll grow into a linebacker," he said. "The coaches from Miami haven't really mentioned that though. They're recruiting me for safety. That's where I've been playing all my life." Odom, 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, has helped lead his team to a 7-1 record this season. "We play North Fort Myers this week and if we win, we're district champs," he said. "We'll probably get to play Charlotte in the first round of the playoffs and they're the only team that has beaten us." Odom, who has 82 tackles on the season, is trying to get a qualifying SAT score. "I take it on the 27th and I'll take the next two," he said. "My grades are fine. I'm taking online classes to help bring them up."
