Tommy Pizzurro missed his sophomore year due to a torn ACL, but he is now fully recovered and playing well as a junior at Iona Preparatory School. He camped at two schools this summer and was also able to make it all the way to Auburn last season for a game to see what a traditional SEC showdown is all about. | |||

Tommy Pizzurro is currently playing offensive tackle, but the 6-foot-2.5, 285-pound lineman will definitely be making the switch to center or guard at the next level. This summer he camped at Boston College and Connecticut and last season he was able to go to Auburn to watch the Tigers take on the Georgia Bulldogs in a premier SEC game. “Right now I am hearing from Boston College, Auburn, Syracuse, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Penn State and Stanford the most,” Pizzurro said. “I hear from just about every school on a daily basis and get handwritten letters from Boston College, Connecticut, Syracuse and Auburn a lot.” “I went to watch Boston College play North Carolina State this year and liked the atmosphere because that is big-time football,” Pizzurro explained. “They gave me a tour of the campus and facilities and I learned that they have a great business management program which is the field I want to pursue. The campus was very nice and I like that it’s kind of close to home. I got to speak to a few coaches who were all nice guys and also camped there.” “I went to Auburn to watch them play Georgia last season and while they have invited me down for multiple games this year it is hard to get anywhere because we always play on Saturday at my school,” Pizzurro stated. “The atmosphere was really intense there because football is like life in that area. I really liked the campus and hear from them regularly.” “Connecticut was very impressive as well because they had a brand new facility with a great training room, weight room and indoor field.” Pizzurro carries an 88-percent GPA. |
