"I went up to see Ole Miss play Arkansas this weekend
with my father," added Michael Lacy. "I saw the game and went to the
Grove, and then that night, I went back to the motel and watched Auburn and LSU
play on TV."
It is no coincidence that the Rebels and Auburn Tigers
are two of the top schools on Michael's list.
"They have been recruiting
me the longest, so naturally I am going to lean to them."
What was
the highlight of the Ole Miss trip?
"Just going to the game and being
in their stadium, grove, just the whole environment. It is a whole different atmosphere
up there."
Did the Rebels' showing Saturday have a negative impact?
"No,
I just wanted to see how their coaches are, and if I liked the school in general.
It was not about who won or loss the game. And even though they lost the game,
I saw a lot of good young players at Ole Miss. They just turned the ball over
too much."
What did Michael's father, who is a native of Enterprise
(AL), think of Ole Miss?
"He thinks it is real nice. We went up there
in the Spring for their Jr Day and spent the weekend up there, so he knew what
it was all about. But we both wanted to see what it was like on Game day, so we
came back up. Their campus, grove, and coaches are what impress us the most about
it up there. Their fans really get into it up there, and their coaches are really
cool. I especially like Coach Kehoe. They are are top of my list, with Auburn
and USM."
Has USM made a move with the 6' 5", 325 pounder?
"Yes
sir, they have. They offered me, and we talk all of the time. I am going to a
game of theirs next weekend. I am taking the ACT this weekend, so I am getting
ready for that."
Where does Auburn stand?
"Auburn is on
top of my list too because they are in the SEC. They gave LSU a run for their
money Saturday. I thought they should have run that game."
Has Lacy
begun to set up his official visits?
"No, but Ole Miss and Auburn
told me they wanted me to take my official with them towards December."
