D'Anton Lynn, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back from Celina High in Texas has some tremendous collegiate opportunities
Major college football programs like Oklahoma, USC, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Arkansas, and Texas Tech have all offered Lynn a scholarship making him one of the most highly recruited players in the country.
Lynn has a wealth of athletic ability, but believes that it just as important to have a mental edge over his opponents, and he has been fortunate to have a lot of help from his father in that department.
The Scout.com four-star prospect’s father (Anthony Lynn) was an All-Southwest performer in college when he played for Texas Tech. The elder Lynn then went on to play seven seasons in the NFL with Denver and San Francisco and is currently the running backs coach for the Cleveland Browns.
“I think that has helped me a lot,” Lynn explained. “He taught me how important it is to stuffy the film and have the proper work ethic.”
“I also think that it helped me out a lot when I played quarterback. It helped me to be a smart football player and how to understand the coverages.”
Lynn plays all over the field in high school, but will most likely be a corner in college.
“I am going to be starting off at cornerback,” Lynn said of his position in college. “If it does not work out then I can move down to safety.”

Lynn has been able to successfully balance the recruiting attention with his prep career, as he has not only been able to help lead Celina to a currently undefeated season, but he has also been able to take official visits to Oklahoma and Penn State.
“Both trips were great,” Lynn said. “I saw Penn Sate play Notre dame and I was at the Oklahoma Vs. Missouri game. Both towns were crazy.”
Oklahoma is a school that recently hopped towards the top of Lynn’s list after they offered him a scholarship, and he was impressed with the atmosphere surrounding the program.
“All of the fans are crazy,” Lynn informed. “They are out at like 8:00 in the morning tailgating and getting ready for the game.”
Lynn also had a great time while in Happy Valley when Penn State dismantled Notre Dame 31-10.
“I love the coaching staff at PSU,” Lynn stated. “I have a really good relationship with coach Norwood. All of the fans at the game were dressed all in white. It was a great game-day experience.”
Lynn picked up another big offer recently when the nation’s top ranked team the Ohio State Buckeyes stepped up to the plate. Lynn enjoyed an unofficial visit to Columbus earlier this year to watch the Buckeye’s spring game, but they have a lot of ground to make up to catch some of the other favorites.
“They just offered me very recently,” Lynn said as he tried to explain his interest level. “I really liked them a whole lot early on, but I wish they would have offered me sooner.”
Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida, and USC seem to lead for Lynn’s services, although he is not ready to eliminate Texas Tech or Ohio State, but at the same time the process may be close to an end for Lynn. He may try to wrap things up after his next and possibly final official visit.
“My next trip will be to Florida (11/3),” Lynn acknowledged. “Florida might be my last official visit. I think my parents and my coaches would like me to have a decision out of the way before the playoffs.”
