Beal Ends The Suspense
Posted Oct 25, 2007
Fans across the nation have been waiting patiently for Succasunna, N.J., native Brendan Beal to announce his college intentions for some time now and while the decision had been made quite some time ago, the five-star strong side linebacker wanted to make sure the decision he had made was one that he was sure of, methodically looking at each school and evaluating what they brought to the table.
Bethlehem Liberty linebacker
was offered by nearly half the schools in the country, but in the end he narrowed his choices down to
so that he could put his focus on a smaller pool. We spoke with the 6-foot-3, 245-pound athlete after his game against Nazareth High School on Friday night to find out where he would be going to school and Beal walked us through each of the last four programs before springing his decision on the nation.
Because of the heavy downpour at the stadium part of the video was destroyed, however we were able to quote what the video missed.
My recruiting process went great and I met so many great people during it,” Beal explained. “I give a lot of thanks to my dad because we traveled all over the country and took a country tour basically. I still talk with guys like Corwin Brown from
and the coaches at
North Carolina State
, but it really came down to four schools.”
“At Boston College I have such a great relationship with Coach McGovern because he’s such a down to earth guy and we really clicked right from the start,” Beal said. “Coach Jags (Jeff Jagodzinski) is a great guy who really has that program going in the right direction and I know they’re going to be on top soon. They also offer a great combination of academics and athletics and that was always something I liked about them.”
