Long Beach (Calif.) Poly safety Herman Davidson (6-2, 200) picked up his first offer last week, from San Diego State, and on Friday, offer number two came in.

"I just got an offer from North Carolina," said Davidson. "They offered me over the phone."

Davidson told Scout.com last week that his conversation's with the Tar Heels had picked up and he became the second Jackrabbit to get an offer from North Carolina.

UNC had previously offered Davidson's partner at safety, Vaughn Telemaque, and he has taken a visit there.

"I'm pretty excited about it," said Davidson. "They said they want to keep me and Vaughn side by side."

Davidson said he would take an official visit to Chapel Hill this fall.

"We have it set for November 3rd, but I have the SAT on that day so we may have to reschedule it," said Davidson.

Through six games, Davidson has 33 tackles and two interceptions. Davidson first burst onto the scene with an excellent performance in the Jackrabbits win over Glenville (Ohio) in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic earlier this season. He had several big hits and finished with eight tackles.
