Blaine Gauthier
The 6-0, 185-pounder looked to have a big senior campaign and he has done just that through nine weeks of play with 2,052 yards and 25 scoring strikes on 143-of¬-234 passing.
"It's gone pretty good," Gauthier said. "I've had a pretty good season but what's important is we're in a good position to make something happen in the playoffs. We’re 8-1 and ranked No. 4 in the state."
The knock on Gauthier by some has been that he is not big enough to play quarterback at the college level and his size is the only explanation for only having an offer from in-state Southeastern.
Several other schools are now starting to show a little more interest and it couldn’t come at a better time for Gauthier.
"I'm hearing from Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Ole Miss, LSU, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe and a few others," he said. "More schools are starting to recruit me because I guess they're just now starting to find out about me. Coach said there is still plenty of time and to just go out and play my game and I'll play college ball somewhere."
