Martez Thompson Profile
"I play corner and some receiver," said Thompson. "I think I am good at covering people and I can catch the ball. I have been playing football all of my life. I have just about always played corner, but I got moved to free safety when I was younger. I moved back to corner my tenth grade."
It takes a special player to be a true shut down corner. Thompson believes he has the skill and the swagger to get the job done.
"I think I can cover pretty much anybody," said Martez. "I need to get my back pedal speed up a little more, but I am doing okay. Most of the time, they don't throw it my way."
The 6-0, 180 pounder is beginning to receive letters from recruiters from around the country.
"I started getting some letters after my tenth grade year," said Thompson. "I am getting letters from a lot of schools, but the main schools that send me a lot of letters are Arkansas and Illinois."
The future communications major is awaiting his first college offers, but Thompson has his eye set on playing in the southeast.
"LSU is the school I would really want to go to," said Martez. "If not LSU, I would consider some other schools close to home like Alabama or some others. I really want to play in the SEC."
