Snapper Gets Two Offers

Matt Wigley

CC of San Francisco snapper Matt Wigley, one of the top pure longsnappers in the JC ranks, picked up two offers over the weekend, one from the Mountain West and one from the WAC...

City College of San Francisco is one of the most talented JC programs annually, and the Rams are known for their offensive and defensive talent each year.

This year, one of their special teams stars is also grabbing the attention of college coaches in long snapper Matt Wigley (6-1, 225).

Wigley is ranked the #7 long snapper by Chris Rubio of Chris Sailer Kicking and this past weekend saw Wigley get two offers.

"Matt has been offered a full ride from New Mexico," said Rubio. "He was also offered by San Jose State (Sunday) as well."

Rubio is high on Wigley and commented about his skill at the position.

"Matt is a good snapper with a ton of potential. He improved a great deal in the short amount of time that I saw him. As long as he continues to work on his blocking and fine tunes all of the little things, he will be fine. Look for Matt to move up the rankings quickly. He could easily move into the top five in this class," said Rubio.

Wigley would have three years to play his two seasons of I-A football.
