Anthony Stroffolino attended his first college game ever recently at Boston College and followed it up with a trip to College Park this weekend to watch Maryland host the Clemson Tigers in an important ACC match-up. Needless to say, the young defensive player was very impressed with all that the Terrapin program had to offer.
Anthony Stroffolino
, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound outside linebacker from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, N.J., made the trip to University of
Maryland
this weekend to watch the Terps take on
Clemson
and check out the campus and facilities. He was able to get a full taste of what game day is like at College Park and spoke to Scout.com about the entire experience afterwards.
“My mother and I arrived at College Park on Saturday morning in time to catch some of the tailgating that was going on and the atmosphere was awesome,” Stroffolino explained. “The fans were going crazy an hour before the game even started which was impressive. My mom and I went to the football complex to pick up our tickets after that and I enjoyed watching Maryland even though they unfortunately lost.”
“After the game we got to go into the weight room and hang out for a little while with the players,” Stroffolino added. “It was cool to see a college level weight room and to see how I compare to their athletes. Soon after, the coaches came out to meet with all of us and there were about a dozen or so recruits there from different places. I enjoyed the entire experience a lot and on Sunday we drove around the campus for about twenty minutes and I thought it was great.”
Stroffolino claims a 40-yard dash of 4.69, a broad jump of 9-foot-1 and a vertical leap of 27 inches. He maintains a 4.0 core GPA and is in the top nine percent of his class. He also bench presses 320 pounds.
