Derrick Jones came into this Monday night’s game looking to eclipse the 1000-yard mark for the season and he did just that while Scout.com was on the field watching him play. At this point Jones holds one offer from West Virginia, but according to his head coach Scott Reed, more could be coming when his grades come through for the marking period this week.

Derrick Jones only touched the ball 11 times on Monday night, but the 5-foot-9, 195-pound running back from Perkiomen Valley High School rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries and also caught and 11-yard touchdown pass en route to a 41-0 pasting of Owen J. Roberts High School. We spoke to Jones about his recruiting after the game and learned that not only West Virginia, but Iowa, Syracuse, Temple, Rutgers and others are interested.

This 58-yard touchdown run was not easy as Jones had to break many tackles and put a nice move on the safety to reach pay dirt.

So far this season he has carried 132 times for 1109 yards and 17 touchdowns in eight games. Jones also has 14 catches for 289 yards and six touchdowns.
