Few passers in the West have put up the numbers that Palos Verdes Peninsula (Calif.) Chadwick quarterback Andy Magee (6-2.5, 200) has.

Magee is currently second in the state in passing with 2,660 yards and 43 touchdown passes in one of the more prolific passing offenses in the country.

Yet Magee is anxiously awaiting his first scholarship offer. Still, plenty of colleges are showing interest in him.

“Just last week, UCLA called for film which was weird with them having a commitment from Nick Crissman,” said Magee. “Washington State, Oregon, Alabama, Colorado State, Boston College and Fresno State have all asked for some film. And I still hear from San Diego State, Montana, Oregon and Alabama.”

In fact, the Aztecs had been showing a great deal of interest, but understandably haven’t been in as much contact lately.

“San Diego State always calls, but I hadn’t heard from them since the fires,” said Magee.

Magee said a couple of obstacles have prevented him from getting offers.

“I’m at a smaller school for one and there really is nothing from my sophomore season. So I’m getting all of my film out. Some of my film was blurry, but I got a new one and am getting that one out. It’s got about 30 of my best plays on it.”

Magee said that Montana has also been showing some more interest of late and have talked about an offer.

“Montana said if they decide to offer a quarterback in this class, they will offer me, but I hope after they see my film, they’ll offer anyway,” said Magee.

Magee said he wasn’t in any kind of rush to make a decision, based somewhat on the lack of an offer, but even with one, he’s waiting for the right offer to come through.

“It completely depends on who offers, but if it doesn’t jump out immediately, I wont commit,” said Magee.

Magee is averaging 332.5 and hasn’t thrown less than four touchdown passes in any game this year. His best game came against Webb, when he threw for 453 yards and seven touchdowns, a week after he threw for 423 yards and seven touchdowns against Linfield Christian.

A good student, Magee has a 3.4 GPA and scored a 1670 on the SAT.
