Ryan Deehan, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound, three-star tight end from Poway, Calif., has narrowed his choices to three schools and says he plans to make a decision by the end of the year.
"Everything is still really the same," Deehan said. "Not much has changed."
Deehan still favors Arizona State, Oregon and Colorado and has taken official visits to all three schools. "All three visits were pretty similar," he said. "I had fun on every visit and they are all kind of the same. The people all treat you well and the games are a lot of fun.
"I just want to be comfortable and I think it'll just be one of those things that'll just come to me," he said. "I'm just at the point now where I'm just stepping back and thinking about all the visits and all the schools."
He visited Arizona State on Oct. 13 when the Sun Devils took on Washington. "I really enjoyed my trip," he said. "I had a lot of fun and I really liked the atmosphere there. The coaches are also great and I like the offense they run. I watched the Oregon game on TV and it was a good game. They are like 7-1 now and I think they'll be a top team for a while.
"I like Oregon a lot too, so I wasn't rooting for either team," he said. "They both played pretty well, but Oregon seems to be a bit more explosive right now. The offense at Oregon is amazing and the defense is good too."
Deehan, ranked as the No. 26 tight end in the country by Scout.com, visited the Ducks when they played Houston. He also visited Colorado on Sept. 15 when the Buffs played Florida State. "They've actually been doing pretty good," he said. "They've won a few big games and played a few close ones too. I think they are still rebuilding and I like the coaches there a lot."
Deehan has scored four touchdowns in eight (8-0) games.
He reports a 2.8 core GPA and a three-part 1480 SAT.
