Bennett Commits to Connecticut

One of the top recruits on the Connecticut Husky board this year was offensive lineman Jimmy Bennett and according to Josh Barr of the Washington Post, the Huskies landed him recently. Scout.com will is attempting to get in touch with Bennett to get more on his commitment as this is written.

Jimmy Bennett, a 6-foot-8, 275-pound offensive tackle from West Potomac High School in Alexandria, Va., recently committed to Connecticut according to Josh Barr of the Washington Post in his recruiting insider blog, published today at 11:30 am.

"West Potomac's Jimmy Bennett reports that he has accepted a scholarship offer from Connecticut. I'll have more on this later. Quite a pickup for the Huskies, who are making a serious move this season."

As Barr said, this is obviously a huge pickup for Connecticut who just defeated Rutgers this weekend and holds an 8-1 record on the season. Bennett was also considering Boston College, Clemson, Michigan State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
