Latavius Murray took two official visits back in September and at this point those two programs are…
Perfect Fit For Murray
Boston College, Syracuse, Connecticut and Maryland had all offered 6-foot-4, 220-pound athlete Latavius Murray scholarships to play for their schools, however in the end his desire to keep playing running back at the collegiate level drove him toward Central Florida, the program that he gave the nod to on Monday night. Murray spoke about his commitment with us recently and why he chose the Golden Knights. "I committed to Central Florida last night and am completely solid with my decision, so I won't be taking anymore visits or anything," Murray said. "I liked something about all of the other schools, but when it came down to it Central Florida was just the perfect fit for me. If I had a number two in recruiting I would have to say it was Connecticut." "Playing running back definitely played a large role in my decision, but there were a lot of factors that went into the decision," Murray explained. "I have family in Florida as my father lives there and being close to home was key. When I spoke to both of my parents they agreed that this was the best fit for me and that made me confident in my decision." "I also really liked it there when I visited and think a lot of the coaching staff and players that I met there," Murray added. "I had the best relationship with them of all the programs that recruited me. I am going to go in a fight for some early playing time, but they have a quality running back in Kevin Smith right now, so we'll see how that works out. At this point I'm just happy to have made this decision." As a junior, Murray rushed for 2,017 yards and 32 touchdowns, earning first team All-CNY, All-League and All-State honors.
