Danville, Pa., native Andrew Shoop has been focusing on his junior season and has set recruiting aside all fall to make sure he gives all he has to his football team, however with the season over, his attention will now turn to his recruitment. At this point the one school he is interested in is a childhood favorite, but soon he will be going over which programs are interested with his coach. | |||

Andrew Shoop finished his junior season having thrown for 2585 yards, 28 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback from Danville Area High School broke two school records in a game against Lewisburg High School this season, passing for 376 yards and six touchdowns in that game as well. Right now Penn State is the one program on his mind, but soon he’ll find out whose minds he is on. “My coach and I will be sitting down to talk about who has been sending me mail and contacting him about me very soon,” Shoop said. “I didn’t want my personal recruiting to be a distraction during the season as I didn’t feel it was fair to my team, so he held that information for me to go over later.” “Penn State is definitely one school that I am extremely interested in,” Shoop explained. “I grew up a fan and we have season tickets, so I love going up to Happy Valley every weekend because there is really nothing like it. I camped there in the summer after my sophomore year. While I do love Penn State though, I am interested in any school that is interested in me and would consider it an honor to play for any team that wants me.” Shoop started five games as a sophomore, throwing for 754 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. |
