Cambridge, Mass., product Joshua Adams could end up being one of the top wide receivers in the nation for the Class of 2009 when all is said and done, but for now the focus for him is helping his team into the playoffs, something they will need to do by knocking off the top team in the state first.

The Cambridge Rindge & Latin Falcons currently hold a 7-3 record and their playoff fates will be determined soon when they play the top program in the state of Massachusetts. One of the driving forces on the potent Falcon offense is four-star wide receiver Joshua Adams and the 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide out has done well so far this year, scoring nine times through the air and four times on the ground in eight of those games.

“I just picked up two more offers from Iowa and Rutgers,” Adams said. “My coach handles all of my recruiting and is trying to wait until after the season to talk to me about all of the schools that are offering or interested, but these two kind of slipped out. Right now my focus is on helping my team win this final game.”

“With Iowa there isn’t really much I can say because I don’t know anything about them. I was given their contact information and am in the process of trying to get in touch with someone there now.”

“Rutgers is another program I’m not very familiar with, however I will be researching them just like I am with Iowa,” Adams stated. “They were really the Cinderella Story of last season and I have been impressed with how they have performed this year through some adversity after coming in with such high expectations.”

Adams also informed us that he believes he could be picking up another offer shortly.

“Coach (Ron) Powlus from Notre Dame came up to the school and spoke with me briefly after talking to coach,” Adams explained. “From what I understand they are very interested in me, so I think that could actually be my next offer. I know this season has gone bad for them, but they have recruited well the past couple of years and have the top quarterback in the nation from last year in Jimmy Clausen. I am going to be watching how their recruiting shapes up this year as I think that would be a nice place to go to school.”

Adams has already qualified to graduate early, so he will enroll at whatever school he ultimately chooses in January of 2009. He now holds offers from Stanford, Boston College, Iowa, Rutgers, Nebraska and North Carolina.
