Geordon Hanohano, the 6-foot-2, 265-pound four-star defensive tackle from St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, says that the Warriors remain his top choice.
Hawaii leads solidly over Utah, UNLV, Arizona and San Diego State. All have offered (six total).
"I really like all the players at Hawaii," Hanohano said. "We are all really close and it's just a family up there. Also they are doing great this season. They are better than I thought they'd be. I think they'll definitely be playing in a BCS bowl and will hopefully do well. I think that would really help recruiting because it would give people a chance to see what Hawaii can do."
The only official visit that Scout.com's No. 20 defensive tackle has scheduled already is to UNLV on Dec. 8, but that depends on how far his team goes in the playoffs.
"UNLV is probably recruiting me the hardest," he said. "They really want me to take a visit there. I've heard it's a pretty nice campus and the program is on the rise. Also, they recruit a lot of kids from Hawaii and I know a few guys on the program.
"Arizona is another program that is up-and-coming," he said. "The coaches told me that I'd be able to make an impact for them right away. They have a pretty young team, so they should be really good next year."
Besides Hawaii, the only other school in his top five that he's actually visited is Utah. "I went to their camp a few years ago and really liked it," he said. "The campus is nice and I liked how central it was to everything. It's a really nice environment there.
"I just want to feel at home wherever I go," he said. "That's why I want to take all of my visits before I decide. I probably won't make a decision until close to Signing Day."
St. Louis High School is currently 10-0 and in the second round of the playoffs. Hanohano has over 10 sacks and 35 tackles.
He reports a 2.8 core GPA and an 830 SAT. He retook it on Nov. 3 and will be taking it again on Dec. 1.
