Ends season on bitter note

Brandon Sanders (CB, Suwanee, GA) - The 6' 1", 202 pound defensive back for Peach Tree Ridge is still upset at how his season ended in the 2nd round of the playoffs

"We got cheap shot out of the playoffs by Roswell, 23-20, in overtime," added Brandon Sanders. "There was a real big controversial call at the end. We kicked a field goal to make it 20-17 in overtime. They got the ball back and fumbled right before he broke the plane, but they called it a TD. It was on TV and everything. Everybody is still talking about it today."

Peach Tree Ridge won the state championship last season in Sander's first year of organized football and saw a lot of improvement in his personal game from year one to year two.

"Just the experience of last season gave me so much confidence going into this year. I played a lot of corner last year and a lot of safety this year, so now I am experienced at two positions. I was much more physical this year. I led our secondary in tackles this year. We have some talented guys like Cameron Demps (Virginia Tech commit), Derrick Bryant (LSU commit), and Phillip Davis (Tulane signee). Me and Derrick averaged around 5 tackles a game."

Brandon committed to Ole Miss in September and learned that the Rebels had just dismissed their head coach on Saturday.

"I heard about the Orgeron news Saturday morning on ESPN. My dad found out about it and called me as soon as he found out. We were shocked."

Sanders has since been in contact with Ole Miss.

"I spoke to Coach Freeze earlier today and he said they will now more tomorrow and to hang in there. I still plan on going to Ole Miss unless something drastic happens in a negative way and then I would look at some other schools, but as of now, I still plan on going to Ole Miss."

What would Brandon like to see happen to make him continue to feel comfortable with his commitment?

"Of course, they do not have a head coach right now. I will not know for sure until they hire one. In the time being, as long as I keep in contact with coach Freeze, that will make me feel comfortable in going to Ole Miss. They just need to keep in contact so I know what is going on."

There is one encouraging news for the Atlanta native.

"I got back my ACT last week and I made a 24 on it. I am good to go now."
