Gavin Hardin reconfirms his commitment

Gavin Hardin (LB, Jackson, TN) - The long time Ole Miss commit has been caught in the a whirlwind over the past few days.

The head coach he had committed to, Ed Orgeron, was let go on Saturday. To make matters worse, he had not heard from the Ole Miss coaches over the past couple of days which led to him stating that he had a new favorite. It seems like the confusion has been cleared.

"I am still solid with Ole Miss," added Gavin Hardin. "I minute ago coach Freeze called me, and let me know what is going on. He answered my questions. Yea, I am still solid with Ole Miss. My feelings have not changed. I am still solid with Ole Miss, but at the same time, I got to keep my options open."

Did Coach Freeze hear about the report before he called Gavin?

"No, we talked like we always do. We have that kind of relationship. I am not dropping my commitment or anything, but you still have take some trips to see what is best for you for not only football but for education. Ole Miss has a good education program, so I am still a verbal for Ole Miss."

Has Gavin had a chance to set up those official visits?

"Yea, I set up one for Ole Miss on January 25th. I think I have a couple more to set up, but I have not set up yet."

Hardin had three colleges come by his school this week.

"North Carolina came in Monday, Miami came up on Tuesday, and then Kentucky came on Wednesday,"

What did they say to Gavin?

"They just want me to know that they want me to play for them and they want to bring me in for a visit."

Would Gavin like to be considered a "solid" or "soft" verbal commitment for Ole Miss?

"I want to be listed as a solid verbal because that is what I am. I have had Ole Miss in my blood for two years now. Yea, I was upset that they let Coach Orgeron go. Yea, I am a little nervous they might not keep Coach Freeze, but I selected Ole Miss for Ole Miss, not just their coaches."
