Committed DB has other visits planned
"We have a big game against Tampa Catholic tomorrow night in the third round of the state playoffs," George Baker said. "If we win that one, we're off to the state game. It's been a good year." Baker has been a standout on both sides of the ball. He has over 1,500 yards and and 16 touchdowns at running back and he has three picks on defense. "Teams really haven't thrown on me too much this season," he said. "That's why I havent gotten too many interceptions." On the recruiting front, Baker made a September commitment to Auburn after he visited the school. Things are a little different now. "I'm a soft commitment," he said. "I'm still taking other visits, trying to figure out if Auburn is really the place for me. They did pretty good this season and next year, when they get me and some other good recruits, they should be near the top." The soft commitment has opened the door for some other schools to move in. "USF came to the school yesterday," he said. "I'll be going up there on a visit on January 25th. They're an up and coming program and they're having a good season. I have Rutgers on December 14th. I'm scheduled to visit UCF next weekend but if we win tomorrow, I'll have to reschedule that one. Coach Muschamp is coming by the school tomorrow." Inside the classroom, Baker carries a 3.21 GPA and scored 740 on the SAT. He plans on re-taking it this Saturday.
