Tide Coach Visits Four-Star Corner

Tide Coach Visits Four-Star Corner

Robby Green, Scout.com four-star cornerback from River Ridge-John Curtis Christian, (La.), has entertained one coach and expects many more. Green talks about the visitor and scheduling official visits as he prepares for the state championship.

"Coach [Burton] Burns from Alabama came last week," said Robby Green. "I talked to coach [Nick] Saban on the phone as well. There haven't been any other coaches here. Probably Florida, Penn State and LSU will visit [this week]."

"Coach Burns is a great guy. The visit went very well. I gave known him since I was a sophomore. I am in real good with his family. He was going to come to my house, but our coach won't let us have in-home visits until after football season."

"I spent time with him at school. Coach Burns, coach Saban and coach [Kirby] Smart plan to come back in December."

Green has visited Tuscaloosa on several occasions, and Alabama is one of several schools very eager to land the elite cornerback's signature.

"I love the coaching staff. I am in great with them. We all have a real close relationship especially with coach Burns. Alabama has a great recruiting class. There is a lot of opportunity there," Green said.

"Coach Saban said I would have the opportunity to come in and play right away. Alabama losing the last four games of the season doesn't matter to me for anyone who wants to know. I know they are rebuilding. Coach Saban will get the right guys to build his system."

The four-star prospect will begin official visits after the season as he continued, "I don't have any official visits scheduled yet. I will start my official visits in January. I will probably visit Alabama the second week of January. I don't know if I will visit LSU. I am thinking about visits to Arizona State, Florida, Tennessee and Penn State."

When asked the schools showing the most interest Green said, "There really isn't one school recruiting me harder than any other one. Everyone has been on point. I have talked to Alabama the most because of the contact I have with coach Burns. They usually call once a week."

John Curtis will play the St. James Wildcats Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the Louisiana Superdome for the state championship. The Wildcats defeated the Patriots during the regular season 16-14.

"I have had a good season," Green said. "I have 40 tackles, 15 pass break-ups, four interceptions, three blocked kicks, two fumble recoveries, one kick returned for a touchdown and about 400 return yards."
