Rialto (Calif.) Carter athlete Khalid Wooten, one of the more versatile players in the Inland Empire, has made his college choice.
"Khalid took an official visit down to UTEP last month and really enjoyed it," said mentor John Brown of Fourth-and-Goal. "After the visit the coaches came in for an in-home visit and he committed."
The commitment from Wooten continues Mike Price's success in California since he took over the UTEP job.
"UTEP would like Khalid to come in and play safety," said Brown. "He could also play some cornerback."
Wooten was the quarterback at Carter this year, rushing for 751 yards and seven touchdowns and threw for 808 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had 27 tackles and an interception.
