Ever since a dominating performance on the Kirk Herbstreit Challenge in Cincinnati, Long Beach (Calif.) safety Herman Davidson has started a big rise in recruiting circles.
Somewhat unknown before the season started, Davidson is now up to five offers, and from some traditional powerhouses.
"I just got an offer from Miami," said Davidson, who is ranked as the #52 safety and a three-star by Scout.com
The offer from the Hurricanes joins offers from Michigan, North Carolina, San Diego State and Ole Miss.
"I'm going to visit Miami on January 18th," said Davidson.
Davidson says, though, that he's not in a rush to make a choice or even narrow down his list.
"Man, I'm still not sure yet," said Davidson. "I'm going to go over all of my offers and then know."
Davidson has 69 tackles this season for the Jackrabbits and six interceptions, but no play was bigger than the one he made at the goalline last Friday night in the CIF Pac-5 semifinals.
A fumble by Orange Lutheran, with the Lancers poised to score in the final seconds, was recovered by Davidson and the Jackrabbits held on for the 2-0 win. Tomorrow night, they'll face Encino Crespi for the CIF-SS Pac-5 title and keep their hopes alive for the California State Bowl Championship D-I berth.
