May Looking to Make an Impact in '08
Walker lined up and played some nose tackle this season because that is what the team needed him to do. He expects to move outside to defensive end in 2008 and may even play a little linebacker. "I feel like I played pretty good this year," said Walker. "I wasn't one of the most important players on the team, but I filled a position that needed to be filled. I believe that helped the team a lot." May believes his football instincts are keen and that his ability to diagnosis what the offense is attempting to do makes him a productive player. "I think I do a good job of reading plays," said the 6-4, 205 pounder. "I generally can tell which direction the play is headed and I can move to it." A few college recruiters are beginning to take notice of what Walker has to offer on the football field. Thanks to a close friend and teammate, May has had the chance to meet the coaching staff of one SEC school. "I am starting to get some letters from some schools," said May. "I am really open minded about everything right now. I have been to Mississippi State a couple of times with Bo (Walters) and they have been really good to me." Walker was able to enjoy the game day experience in Starkville and his time on the MSU campus appears to have made an early impact. "I went to Mississippi State for a couple of games," said May. "I went to see them play Tennessee, Alabama and Gardner-Webb. I liked it there a lot. Those cowbells are crazy and I like the campus there a lot. If I had a favorite right now it would be them."
