Our Lady of Good Counsel defensive lineman Corey Boatman took an official visit to Syracuse on Saturday to see what the Orange had to offer and came away extremely impressed. He was so impressed in fact that it didn’t take him very long to end his recruitment on the visit and give his verbal commitment to Head Coach Greg Robinson and staff.

Wheaton, Md., product Corey Boatman had a great season for Good Counsel as a senior, registering 60 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and scoring a defensive touchdown. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive tackle held written scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Rutgers and Syracuse, but ended his recruitment this weekend, giving a verbal during an official visit.

“Yes, Corey did commit to Syracuse this weekend,” Boatman’s mother said.

We did speak with both of his parents, however Boatman was catching up on homework that he missed due to the official visit and was not available for comment tonight. will be following up to talk to him about his commitment as soon as possible.
